Profit from our new recovery and recycling solutions for cables and other building waste

How we help capture waste value

Smarter solutions to industrial metal and PVC waste

We’re on a mission to reduce industrial waste by recovering and returning it to the economy as valuable resources, no matter how technically challenging that is.

Just 3-5% of PVC is recycled in Australia! That’s why we’ve partnered with CSIRO, RMIT, the Vinyl Council of Australia and The Department of Industry, Science and Resources to develop new PVC processing technology.

Additionally, we’ve invested in a state-of-the-art metals recycling plant that recovers much higher percentages than the scrap industry can.

We return value to you. And keep your cable waste out of landfill.

What drives JR Hammer?

We are industrial waste reduction experts, recycling technology innovators & circular economy warriors.
But we’re also businesspeople who understand our clients need solutions that make commercial sense.

“I truly believe that waste represents failure. Failure of imagination, failure of technology and most of all failure to take responsibility.

When scrap merchants talk about recycling cables, they don’t tell you that most of the material goes into landfill.

So I set out on a mission to find a smarter, more responsible approach to processing waste the scrap industry can’t deal with, and return it back to industry for a second life.

I’ve partnered with government, researchers, industry bodies and academics to solve the great PVC recycling challenge and invested heavily in high-capacity machinery that achieves exceptional recycling rates.

I’m determined to do this so everybody wins; the building industry, cable makers and the environment.”

Finding partners who truly understand sustainability isn’t easy, but this company exceeded all our expectations. Josh has created something special—a business that expertly recycles PVC from electrical cables and enabled us to develop a lighter, more sustainable concrete by replacing sand with their recycled materials.

At Think Polymer Technologies, we’re proud to collaborate with JR Hammer as part of our commitment to sustainable innovation. The recycled PVC provided by JR Hammer—recovered through the separation of copper cable—forms a key raw material in our advanced manufacturing process.

Using proprietary analytical technology developed in collaboration with Sustainability Victoria and the CSIRO, we assess the properties of the recycled material and enhance it through targeted additives or synergistic blending with other PVC streams to meet the performance requirements of our products.

This ongoing partnership with JR Hammer is a standout example of how collaboration across industries can accelerate circular manufacturing. Together, we’re transforming waste into high-performance, commercially viable products, helping to close the loop on plastic reuse.
